I moisturize my locs with a combination of 1/2 rose water and vitamin E oil in a spray bottle once every couple of days. I massage my scalp with Jamaican black castor oil 3-4 times a week in the evening. I sleep with a satin pillow case cause I find my wraps always slide off during slee . Especially if you live an extremely active lifestyle. Summers can be the season you need to wash more often, which can lead to dry brittle locs. When locs are dry they are prone to breakage, can look dull, and will feel brittle. Here are Treat locs with a moisturizing hair cream to prevent them from drying out. Massage a small amount of cream into locs every morning and again in the evening. Creams that contain tea tree oil, peppermint, coconut oil, avocado oil, Shea butter or mango butter have good moisturizing properties. Cover your locs with a silk scarf before going to bed Coconut oil, olive oil, and avocado oil are moisturizing oils, which means that they are more effective when mixed with a little bit of water first and then applied to the scalp.
